Investment Process & Policy

The Lawrence Foundation was initially funded in 2000. At the time, we had very little investment experience. We went through a fairly long and methodical process to learn about investing and to identify the investment manager that we would work with to manage our foundation assets. Some of the material we used or developed during this process follows:

  • Fiduciary Duties Brief description of prudent investment practices.
  • Investment Process Brief description of the process we followed to identify our investment goals and priorities, select an investment manager, and then develop, execute and monitor our investment plan.
  • Investment Manager Evaluation Criteria Brief description of the criteria we used to evaluate investment manager companies and teams.
  • Investment Policy Statement (IPS) Template of the Investment Policy Statement we developed to guide the investment of The Lawrence Foundation assets.

Below is our Investment Policy Statement (IPS), Policy Conflict of Interest and Policy Shareholder Advocacy documents.
